finally decided to dust off the ol neocities and actually put some effort into it lol X3 i made the first iteration when i was going through a dark academia phase in high school, and then i realized that actually, i miss bright colors. not sure how often i'm gonna use it, but i'll try to make a habit of it X)!!

i have to go back to work tmrw, so idk how fast updates are gonna be to the site (i work an 8/5 at a fuckin GROCERY STORE (trying to become full-time) and it's either slow as shit or busy as fuck), but i have like. soooo many gifs to make for the cd collection page. there's like. twenty or so. and one of them ain't even shipped yet! might also make a book page too, cuz i have a decorative book collection.
(yeah haha i'm ambitious even tho i barely know html and the lighting in my house is SHIT cuz it's OLD AS BALLS and the lights are all DIRECTLY ABOVE ME)
speaking of my work it's hatch chile season!!! idk how common it is but it basically just means you can buy hatch chile products for like. fresh fresh. people go fucking NUTS for hatche chiles i s2g. i package food products (stuff like potoato salad and ready-2-heat meals) and we have a bunch of stuff we make just for hatch chile season and like. it sells out so fast! i packaged 8 things of hatch mac n cheese one day (abt 8 or 9am?) and by the time i left (3pm), it was all almost gone!!! like WHAT???
okay so abt today. there was this HUGE fucking insect in my room last night!!! i think it was a hatchet wasp (don't sting and parasitize roaches! very good for the house), but idk... it was on my wall, and when i left to get my dad (cuz he's the BEST like seriously) it flew onto my sardine pillow, and then when he came up it was GONE. and then my mom and brother checked the room top from bottom to make me feel better and there was like. nothing? so we thought it left? (still slept in a sweater during summer tho)
but this morning i was starting work on this site and IT SHOWED UP AGAIN o0o on my CURTAIN! my mom got it with my shoe (and also said it didn't look like a wasp so like. idk??? maybe it was a fucked up cricket??? but they normally show up during fall) and like. i feel bad cuz i love insects and they're good for the ecosystem and whatever, but also idfk what it was and i didn't wanna risk getting bit or stung or whatever cuz. idk if i have allergies :T
also i ran out of dublin :( the store i work at sells only the individual glass bottles for like. $2 and i don't have my rewards set up. i might do it just to see if i get some sort of discount on the dublin. we have diet coke but idrc for diet coke lol and my brother will just hoover the entire case in the span of like. two days. so what's the fucking point amirite?

work was fine. i was on snack pack duty today, but L (one of my coworkers lol she's sweet) did a bunch for evening shift yesterday, so there wasn't much :/ just whatever needed to be transfered to the convenience store and the stupid sandwich packs nobody likes making (cuz they take like. an hour lmao), and then i went right to packaging. my awesome bro picked me up lol so that was great
also, i picked up a dublin during my lunch break, so the day is like. the best, if you can't tell.
okay so website updates! WE GOT A HEADER, YA'LL!!! i found a jpg of some alphabet magnets and slapped them around in ibispaint x, then put it through a color reducer lol i was gonna add some more, but eh. im not super creative on that front rn. i'm gonna take pictures of all my cds after i eat dinner, and then i'll see how hard it is to make some gifs. i don't think it will be, but mama raised a fool, not a quitter.
reminds me, i really need to work on that credits page lmao i'm already making a list, but i just haven't started making like. the actual page
anyway does anyone remember those like. tiktok vid serieses inspired by the sun vanished? the youtube channel "anything" (they haven't posted in like. two years but whatever) has several playlists dedicated to several of them. i watched them all the time in high school (which wasn't that long ago? 3 years o_o) and i mean. yeah, they're schlocky. they're really cliche. and you can tell some of them were heavily inspired by the sun vanished. but also, they've got several videos dedicated to spanish-specific stories, and one of them is literally about a haunted pinata shop??? like. the owner of the shop got his hands on a haunted dora pinata, which i think is the best concept ever >.> in a "this is really silly on paper, but the right execution can make it work" kind of way. and YA'LL. THEY MAKE IT WORK!!! THE STAGEWORK ON THAT SERIES IS. DA BOMB X0X!!! YOU REALLY SHOULD WATCH IT, IT'S TITLED "MARIO LARA" ON THEIR CHANNEL. YES, IT GETS REALLY CLICHE BUT I PROMISE IT'S ENJOYABLE
as for one i wouldn't recommend... "carlos name" ain't really the best??? it's got its good points — he's got some really creative plots and the FX and stagework is really good too — but one moment his neighborhood has transformed into a liminal space, and the next, people are resurrecting the thylacine (NOT A FUCKING JOKE!!!) i can see where they were going, and i think a series surrounding the idea of "something bizarre happens every other week" is really interesting and cool, but nothing really ever gets resolved :/ i don't think they ever followed up on rescuing the thylacine. it really feels like a TV series where they clearly had all these ambitious ideas, but they were cut on time and funds. idk maybe its just me
update: i'm sorry??? i'm fucking sorry??? what do you mean people leaked classified military documents on the war thunder forums again??? do these people legit sit there and go "my waifu (a 40k lb military vehicle) isn't represented accurately in-game :( here are the classified government documents that directly state..."

OHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOOOD WHY IS MY WORKPLACE LIKE THIS???? T0T
okay so i work at a grocery store, right? specifically, i package meals n egg salads n stuff. so, our dips use these like. 12oz containers, as well as products that come in multiple sizes. and at the packaging station we keep several boxes of containers under the table cuz. convenience.
so. i come into work and i see we don't have a box of 12oz. "not a problem," i think. "i'll just go grab the ladder and get another box." but we don't have another box. and m (other packager) couldn't find any either. none in the back, so i ask my manager b, "hey, did we order any boxes of 12oz containers?" he says, "yes, they should be coming in today."
t comes in and does the pallets. no 12oz. there are lids for the 12oz (and the 16oz and 8oz), but no 12oz.
like. come the fuck on??? i s2g if we don't get any tmrw i'm gonna LOSE IT. like. ACTUALLY >:( and also we have too many fucking deviled egg trays, which i know is weird to complain abt but we've been trying to control shrink in our department for the past month or so, and half the time it's bc someone made a bunch of shit we didn't need/doesn't sell. if i see ANY EGGS tmrw i'm gonna scream
bits of good news tho, my parents did grocery shopping todays and there were crab legs at a discount >0< so guess what i'm having tonight??? and i also got more dublins :) and ice cream sandwiches. life is pain but today i thrive
and also I MIGHT GET TO VISIT MY FRIEND TUESDAY!!! she lives like. thirty minutes away from me, and since i can't drive yet my mom has to take me (my friend isn't used to highways yet lol). she just got a job, so we're tentative rn? but it's a go rn! i'm gonna be sooooo sad if i don't get to tho :( all my other irl friends moved out of state, so she's the only one i can really like. hang with in real life.
cd collection pages mayyyy take another day??? i'm having to manually erase the backgrounds bc all my available cameras and editing softwares are shit lol (still using ibispaint x!), but i do have a general idea as to how i want the page to look. trust me, is gonna be good!!!! *V* no updates on the cd i ordered, but based on the reviews, they're the kind of seller with long wait times, and i'm not rlly in a rush for it :/ i can wait three weeks

omgggg i was not expecting it to like, take that long lmao. but it was a total BITCH to manually erase those backgrounds, and then i had to figure out how to animate them (THANK YOU LONELY-COCONUT ON TUMBLR DOT COM FOR DA TUTORIAL!!! OMGGG IT WAS SO HELPFUL I WAS LEGIT GOING NUTS)
anyway there's not a whole lot for today??? tbh i mostly just made the cd gifs and chilled. mom and i went to a hallmark store to look at the halloween decor (a pitiful amount) and then stopped at sonic. we somehow ordered an extra burger, so ya boy gets to have burgers twice today. we had to drive an extra few minutes to a different sonic than the one we normally go to, because that one was being run by ONE FUCKING PERSON??? LIKE??? HELLO, I'D LIKE TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER ABOUT THIS INJUSTICE, THAT POOR GIRL SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING THIS JOINT ON HER OWN >:( LOOK AT ALL THESE CARS!!! if people called out, then it's the managers responsibility to get people to cover those shifts. it's common sense!!
SPEAKING OF WORK we still don't have 12oz containers!!! maybe that'll change when i come in tmrw, but it's a warehouse issue, not a store issue. as in, it gets shipped from a warehouse, and apparently, they're all fuckered out of the containers. i'm hoping we have the containers tmrw, but i'm not getting my hopes up. we did finally get a new dishwasher, but unfortunately, they're evenings only, so we still have temps for the mornings. hoping we get one tho, because yesterday our temp was two fucking hours late >:( and afaik they didn't notify the manager or anything, because m (not the other packager, one of the managers) didn't know where the hell they were.
custodians restocked cds for their album "honest work" (WHICH YOU SHOULD TOTALLY LISTEN TO BTW, IT'S SOOOO GOOOOOD), so i should be getting that the 24th at the latest. luckily, i won't struggle with making the graphic this time, since i know what to do. unfortunately, the other album i ordered still hasn't been shipped. i'm gonna hang on a bit before i try poking the seller about it, because they did say they were out of town, and the average wait time seems to be 1 week - 2 weeks for them. totally not buying from them again tho; no hate or anything, but the delay is making my anxiety skyrocket, and i already felt like shit over accidentally purchasing a non-refundable vinyl (long story). on another good note, i bought snake pool's entire discography off bandcamp
no promises the cd collection page will be up today, because as of the time of writing this i have to go to bed in like, 3 hours, but miracles take time :) and i have Ideas

WE FINALLY GOT THE 12OZ CONTAINERS IT'S A MIRACLE. the 8oz containers just were not selling T0T the shelves look soo much better
i made macaroni for dinner today, and we had leftover ground beef from yesterday so i added that in :P i probably should've microwaved the beef first, but eh. it's fiiiiiine, it was still edible. i'm considering spending an extra $3 on velveeta (kraft is about $1) just to see if it's better? because if you've never had leftover kraft, the cheese uhh. is not cheese? it's powdered cheese you mix with milk and butter, so leftovers get real funky o_o like. the cheese tries to re-powderize in the fridge, and it doesn't melt when you microwave it... freaky...
i WAS gonna work on the cd collection page, but uhhhh. lazy :) thinking about the blorbos from my mythologies (arthurian legends). i really wanna find a pdf of the faerie queene because 1. arthurian legend... and 2. britomart, but also 3. there's an automaton? his name is talus (not talos, from greek mythologies. different guy, from a way later century), he's artegall's friend, and he's made of iron. according to wikipedia he's an unstoppable force of justice who will "mercilessly pursue and kill any number of villains", which i think is hilarious in ye olden time of medieval. like, imagine you're some villainous knight with evil in your heart, probably hates lancelot, and you come across another knight, and you're thinking, "Oh! I meet another opponent on the battlefield. I shall slay him and take his shield as a trophy." and then you get blugeoned by an iron statue with a flail. monty python shit.
i should also like to mention, while on the topic of arthurian legends, that fucking GARGANTUA features in a king arthur story??? it's called the tale of gargantua and king arthur and it's in french :( so i can't confirm if it's as crude as the original gargantua & pantagruel, but i sincerely hope it is, because it would not be a gargantua book if it wasn't. btw, don't read the og books if you have a weak constitution (: there's a lot of bathroom humor that is very hard to stomach! which is the point, because it's statire and mister rabelais was intentionally writing the most ridiculous and vulgar story he could! but still! not for the feint of heart

cd collection page is A Process :) i'm trying to get it to do a specific thing, but i have to figure out how to get it do to said specific thing, and i am not that good at css nor html!!!
you know how my blog archive lets you click on a date, and then in a separate box, it'll display you the entry for that date? i'm trying to do that for the cd collection page. however, i can't have it target two different blocks; i want it to show a close-up of the cd + album in one window and information about the album in another window. but it is NOT WORKING!!! but i'll figure smthn out eventually lmao
ordered another cd btw :) expert in a dying field by the beths. i'm also ordering a cd reader so i can rip what i've got into quod libet. according to my friend, i'll have to tag everything by hand? which might be hell but i walk through it on my way to work everyday, so no biggie. the most complicated part is gonna be tagging the lyrics but. meh.
oh yeah, i'm adding the lyrics to the songs i have on my puter? it was bc i wanted to learn the lyrics to spy song, but then i got carried away and now i've made my mission to lyric everythang. it's not super difficult (i just copy everything off genius.com) just tedious :/ my standard tagging is song title + album + artist
anyway i'm back to working on writing lol i tend to jump between stories, because that's how you keep yourself from getting burnt out. right now, i have "this town is weird but my family is worse, so it's fine", "coffee as a metaphor for capitalism", and "you wouldn't resurrect pandora (but someone did)". they're pretty ambitious ngl, might start with something smaller like. idk. translating greek myths into modern-era hijinks? the trojan war is just a really intense sports tournament or smthn and the gods are all sponsors. greek mythology is specifically on the mind rn, idk why
one of my other friends is explaining warhammer 40k lore to me rn and like. my only exposure to 40k is "sailor moon can defeat the god emeperor of mankind". that's it. that's my only exposure. she just sent her fav explanation of how each faction warps through literal space hell and it includes the sentence, "The Tyranids use a semi truck to go around the outside of the building, causing a bunch of property damage, but they don’t care." i don't how how accurate that is, because again, idk 40k lore, but that is funny. i wanna know what other dumb shit is in there.

great news!!! my cd finally came in X) three fuckin weeks... thankfully, the seller was very nice and humored me asking them when i should expect it to be shipped lol they just forgot to update the discogs. it's fiiiiine i'm listening to it rn
i've been kind of tired ltately lol but tmrw i get to visit my friend!!! and i get to show her my new cd + i finally got a cd burner!!! so i burnt her peach ring's "i'll look out for you" and snake pool's discography. hope she likes them >.< we're also gonna have the car again, so
anyway since i've been like, tired, cd collection page is ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!! cuz i just do NOT have the energy :(
